Big country

As we were being driven from Alta, where we were skiing, to Salt Lake City airport, the children saw a road sign pointing towards Las Vegas. Gabriella asked the driver how long it would take to get there.

“Six hours”, came the reply.

“So why are there signs already?” she wondered aloud.

“Because there’s nothing between here and there”.

Wow. This is a huge country, with a lot of empty space.

A whole load of nothing, divided by a road. Taken from the plane.

A whole load of nothing, divided by a road. Taken from the plane, somewhere between Utah and California.
